We spend a great deal of time at our ranch in Dupree South Dakota, 850 miles from Stillwater, OK. In many ways it’s became a sort of home away from home.

This year as we AI’d cows there was a deep sense of pride. We’ve worked hard to develop a solid cow base and as you look over the set you have contentment as you realize what’s been achieved. I’ve always wanted to share that part of GCC with our customers so they could really view the conditions that these females are developed in; it’s flat out cow country. The prairie is their home, there is no silage truck, no feed wagon, they do it all on their own on the wide open prairie of Dupree, South Dakota.

The land, the people, and the cattle, it’s became a part of us and our family. Mark Sneed took these pictures late this summer of our South Dakota home. The stories we could tell, the memories made, the time spent, and most of all the people.

Ken Birkeland has become not only someone we work with day in and day out; he’s a mentor, a true cattlemen, and a great a friend. If it wasn’t for Ken Birkeland we wouldn’t be in South Dakota.
